You're cordially invited to attend the next Gateway JUG meeting on August 1st at 6pm. At this meeting, James Estes , Daugherty Business Solutions, will be presenting on, "Web Acceptance Testing with Selenium"
Selenium is one of those tools that once you try it you wonder why no one had though of this before. This free and open source library takes provides JUnit-like red bar/green bar feedback in web applications. Selenium uses JavaScript and Iframes to embed a test automation engine in your browser. This makes it great for running cross-browser tests. In its simplest form, Selenium Core is just a JavaScript/DHTML library you deploy on your web server. Test setup is a a breeze, too. You just create a simple, HTML table representing a TestCase to automatically perform navigation, enter form data, and check for results. The output is a familiar, JUnit-like table with rows shaded as green or red. Selenium supports organizing tests into TestSuites, so a complete web site test suite can be built painlessly. Try the Selenium demos to see for yourself. That's the overview of Selenium. At our August 1st meeting, James Estes will show us many more details on setting up, running, and getting the most out of Selenium. Please visit the JUG meeting page for more details. If you do web application development, you don't want to miss this meeting! Please RSVP to rsvp@gatewayjug.org if you're planning to attend. ------ We're proud to have Daugherty Business Solutions as our August Sponsor.
