Selenium is one of those tools that once you try it you wonder why no one had though of this before. This free and open source library takes provides JUnit-like red bar/green bar feedback in web applications.

Selenium uses JavaScript and Iframes to embed a test automation engine in your browser. This makes it great for running cross-browser tests.

In its simplest form, Selenium Core is just a JavaScript/DHTML library you deploy on your web server. Test setup is a a breeze, too. You just create a simple, HTML table representing a TestCase to automatically perform navigation, enter form data, and check for results. The output is a familiar, JUnit-like table with rows shaded as green or red. Selenium supports organizing tests into TestSuites, so a complete web site test suite can be built painlessly. Try the Selenium demos to see for yourself.
